Drills, Skills, and Efficiency on Fabric (PART 1) with Anna Thomas-Henry

This workshop breaks down intermediate skills, works on fundamental techniques needed to tighten them up and builds on top of them. We will also look for ways to eliminate unnecessary extras in the skills you already have!

Prerequisites:

  • Must be able to climb to & invert at the top of the fabric.
  • Experience with multiple drops.
  • Experience with multiple pose based skills.

Anna is a contemporary circus artist specializing in aerial fabric based out of Seattle, WA. Her innovative work on fabric has earned her first place at the 2015 U.S. Aerial Championships in NYC as well as placement as a finalist in the 2015 Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival in Denver.

Anna is a 2014 graduate of SANCA Seattle's Professional Preparatory Program where her primary focus was on aerial fabric and hand-balancing. Prior to attending SANCA, Anna completed education at the Circus Warehouse Pro Program (NYC), The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (Musical Theatre, NYC), and The Shanghai Conservatory of Music (Voice, Shanghai, PRC). She is a multi-disciplinary performer who has performed and toured in circus, dance and musical theater all across the country.

You can find her in Seattle coaching aerial, hand-balanancing, strength and flexibility at SANCA where she is the Aerial Lead & Principal Coach for the Professional Prep Program as well as touring to perform and give workshops. Anna is a frequent collaborating performer with The Acrobatic Conundrum and Animate Objects Physical Theatre.
