Femme Fabrics: Sensual Aerial Silks for unlocking expression w/Alayna Stroud

As the title would suggest, this is a class designed particularly for our female-identifying students. A unique evening tailored to you and a sacred space to let your femininity flow. Delving into sensual movement on the ground, diving deep into improv, and following our own inner voices, we will sore to new heights in the air!

We spend a great deal of time as women trying to get things right, to fit into the molds presented to us, even to be sexy in a prescribed way. What if there was a space to be messy, to make mistakes in front of other women who weren't judging you, and to find out how moving in a sensual way feels for you without dictated boundaries?

We will be creating just such a place, and time.

Class begins with a grounding warm-up drawing from meditation, dance, and yoga principals. We will then take time to learn some basic techniques to hang and perch in the air on a variety of soft and fluid fabric apparatuses- silks, hammocks, etc. Then we will explore exercises that help you to find your own personal pathways and individualized movements. The class will culminate in students improvising to find their own flow to great music. Challenge yourself to try something new in a fun and safe environment!
